Reynosa Wind Farm

ACCIONA Industrial participated in the construction of this wind farm for the Mexican energy company Zuma Energía, in charge of the BOP (Balance of Plant).

ACCIONA Industrial participated in the construction of this wind farm for the Mexican energy company Zuma Energía. It is the largest wind farm in Latin America with a capacity of 400 MW, located in Reynosa, in the state of Tamaulipas.

The Reynosa wind farm will provide clean and sustainable energy capable of supplying nearly one million inhabitants and will prevent the emission into the atmosphere of 739,000 tons of CO2 per year.

To carry out the project, ACCIONA Industrial has built the BOP (Balance of Plant): the engineering, supply, construction, installation and testing of the civil works, the medium-voltage grid, the power evacuation system and the interconnection to the park's grid. Foundations have been laid for 123 wind turbines of 3.45-3.6 MW each, 120 metres high, as well as the roads and accesses to them. In addition, it has installed the medium voltage network for the entire park at 34.5 kV; the high voltage network at 400 kV with three substations - two elevators and one interconnection - and 40 kilometres of double-circuit lines.
